SOURCING CANDIDATES

TAH uses a number of sourcing techniques to generate a long list of applicants, including referrals, direct headhunting, advertising, job boards, social networking, and database searching. We realise that some of the most powerful applicants are those who are passive—people who are not actively looking for work.

4

ASSEMBLE SHORTLIST

TAH approaches a two-stage approach:
Stage 1: The research team will source, interview and create a list of candidates based on the specifications outlined by your team.
Stage 2: We further qualify the candidates to create a shortlist of prospective profiles.

5

VIDEO INTERVIEW SCREENING

We organise and undertake video interviews using a list of pre-agreed, competency-based questions. We conduct and record the interviews and send them to our clients as a media file. This is a useful stage in further demonstrating the suitability of the candidate prior to the formal interview process.

CANDIDATE APPRAISAL

All profiles will be sent with a cover sheet containing availability, current salaries and benefits, education levels, and a synopsis as to why they are a strong candidate. We will also look at their eligibility for PR and provide information on the immigration and sponsorship processes.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

01

Conducting a Needs Analysis

Our first step is to engage in a comprehensive discussion with you to gain a thorough understanding of your organisation, its culture, requirements, urgency, goals, objectives, and selection process.

02

Creating a Position Profile

We will prepare written documentation that outlines the position's scope, impact, responsibilities, visa requirements, English language proficiency, and accreditation criteria, if necessary.

03

Engaging and Assessing Candidates

Next, we will conduct a detailed assessment of potential candidates, including personal interviews, experience verification, and an evaluation of cultural compatibility. This assessment will enable us to provide expert recommendations on the most suitable candidates for your company.

04

Presenting Suitable Candidates

We will present you with a curated selection of highly qualified and skilled candidates. Our written reports will be concise and focused, providing information on candidates' education, employment history, managerial abilities, market and technical knowledge, communication skills, visa eligibility, salary expectations, and the overall package.

05

Interview Process

We will promptly arrange interviews for you to meet the candidates. In the past, we have utilised Skype, Zoom, or standard telephone calls for interviews. Alternatively, we have organised conferences in South Africa, allowing you to meet multiple candidates in person. Rest assured, we strictly adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring the well-being of all attendees by implementing social distancing technologies and following protocols related to the current global pandemic.

06

Checking Candidate References

We will diligently collect professional references for each candidate. This crucial step provides valuable insights for making informed hiring decisions. We will contact each employer to verify employment and gather feedback on the candidate's performance.

07

Negotiation

We will support you in structuring a competitive compensation package that will entice your preferred candidate to accept the offer. Our strong relationship with the candidate, developed throughout the process, allows us to understand their motivations for relocating to Australia, enabling us to tailor the offer accordingly.

08

Aftercare

Even after successful placement, we maintain a relationship with our candidates to ensure a smooth transition into your organisation and the country. We assist them with all aspects of settling in Australia, ensuring their happiness and facilitating their optimal performance from the very beginning.

SPONSORING A FOREIGN WORKER TO AUSTRALIA

Australian Flags_edited_edited.jpg

STEP 1:

SPONSORSHIP PROCESS

To sponsor skilled international candidates, Australian employers must first obtain approval as a Standard Business Sponsor (SBS) from the Department of Home Affairs. This approval verifies that the sponsor company is actively and lawfully operating in Australia. Additionally, the sponsor must demonstrate compliance with workplace relations policies and corporate regulations as an employer in Australia.

STEP 2:

NOMINATION PROCESS

Once approved as a sponsor, the Department of Home Affairs must then approve a Nomination application for the specific position to be filled. The nominated position should offer a salary that is comparable to industry standards, indicating that it meets the 'market rate' and exceeds the minimum salary threshold. Some occupations have specific minimum salary requirements as a condition for sponsorship. The nominated occupation must be listed as suitable, and the position must be deemed genuine. Labour market testing must be conducted, and there may be applicable caveats.

STEP 3:

VISA APPLICATION

The nominee, who is a prospective foreign worker, submits a visa application under Subclass 400, 482, 186, or 494 to fill the nominated position. The nominee must provide evidence of meeting the required English language proficiency. Suitable qualifications, such as a diploma or tertiary-level degree, must be demonstrated. If applicable, the nominee must show appropriate registration or licensing to work in the nominated occupation in Australia. Additionally, a minimum of two years of relevant employment experience in the nominated occupation must be proven.
